Weddings
A wedding is an exciting time, both for the couple getting married and for our church.
If you live in our parish, and have not previously been married, you are fully entitled to be married here.
If you live outside the parish you would need to have a certain connection with the church, such as
-
you were baptised in the parish,
-
you or your parents (in your lifetime) lived in the parish,
-
you have habitually worshipped in the parish for at least 6 months,
-
or your parents or grandparents were married in the parish.
If one of you has been married before, it may be possible in certain circumstances for us to offer a wedding service after seeking permission from the Bishop. The important thing is to speak to the vicar at the earliest possible date. We hold Marriage Preparation classes which all wedding couples are asked to attend.
If you are interested in getting married at St. John's, please contact us to arrange an initial meeting when all the details can be discussed on info@stjohnsupperholloway.church.
If you are getting married in another church but need to have your Banns read at St. John's, please contact the church as above and we will guide you through this very simple process.
